Meet the Dead...line

When everyone are busy on the assignment 2. I still take my time to write blog. Haha ~ Although the assignment 1 had finalized and the marks had gave us already, but I still want to write down in here, as our IT Marketing course no finish yet.

I really feel tired this week, as keep contact with my team members continuously & discuss the project, do the project day & day to make it better. As I want to take more time to do the project, I had stay in office every lunch. And also, slept @ 2am to review & review the information in internet, make sure what I did is correct. It's a very hard moment, not only for me, as I know, but also for all my classmate. Everyone are try very hard to make their project better.

At this moment, our team had group up the ideas and generated a draft already, but we still need time to review and proof read it, hope we can finish it asap. I really look forward to see the final version of our group project. I'm not sure what will Jenny feel after viewing that, but really hope we can let her get a fresh & impressive feeling.

Databases & Info Managment (Q1 - Session 5)


A database management system (DBMS) is a specific type of software for creatin, storing, organizing and accessing data from a database. A DBMS consists of software that permits centralization of data and data needs. A single databse services multiple applications. The most important feature of the DBMS is its ability to separate the logicl and physical views of data. The user words with a logical view of data, the DBMS retrieves information so that the user does not have to concerned with its physical location.

Microsoft Access is one of the example of DBMS. It can divide the information ito subject-based tables, helps to join the information in the tables together as needed, helps support and ensure the accuracy and integrity of your information, and accommodates the data processing and reporting needs.

Even through the small database, we can also divid the information into subject-base. By clicking the the "Sorting" button, we can sort /find the information by our preference. We can also default the column into specific type. For example, data, amount and words, etc.



It can also help to accommodates the data processing and reporting. Just follow the step in the system, the report can generate automatically.

Internet Marketing (Q1 - Session 4)




The Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) is a well-known company in Hong Kong. They provide television entertainment services for the public, which included free and pay channel. They had spread their company information through the internet successfully. One of their most powerful check point is their own website: http://www.tvb.com/ .

The title of their website had named as tvb.com, which is same as their company name. In tvb.com, we can find may information about the company. The main page covered all useful title and with some attractive picture. The upper left hand corner will show the most popular programme, and also some plans or events that are under promotion. At the upper right hand corner, they will also point out which programme on air in their different channel.

For the lower left hand corner, there's the updated list for the artists blog. Once the artists updated their own blog, the update will show in there. There also a billboard for their artist.



At the bottom of the website, they provided several links for their different channels. People can visit the channels' own page by clicking the icon.


Through the website, you can see the schedule of each channel. The system will highlight the on air programme automatically for easier reference. The drama, movies, some reality programmes or special programmes will have a separate web pages. In the pages, it will show the introductions, chapters' descriptions, characters and background history, etc. It let the audiences understand more before watch the programme and attract people to watch the programme continuously.



Each artist in TVB will have their own blog, they can post everything in their blog. It could help the public, especially the fans to understand more of those artist. Some artists will post some news for which drama they are editing now, to attract more people to watch the drama. Here is one of the example for the blog, their General Manager, Mr. Stephen Chan, will update his own blog everyday.






For better communication, they had arrange a forum for the public. The forum had divided into different categories. People can post anything on the forum, whatever it is related to the TVB programme or not.










TVB concerned some people might missed their programme, therefore the tvb.com had created a new function called "My TV". It uploaded many programmes and let the public see it online for free. All the videos are very up-to-date. They had filed the videos into different types for better searching. Also, you can find which is the most popular and updated.


In the website, they provided a page for selling their products, mainly is the VCD, DVD and Blu-ray. There's another page for their TVB magazine, you can read that magazine online.


For better client services and internet marketing, they had cooperate with other media for different programme too. That included msn, Yahoo! and Youtube.



The Cable TV also one of the famous television company in Hong Kong, but their internet marketing is ineffective. Their website (http://www.cabletv.com.hk/) is very messy, some icons will overlapping on others.



The webpage is not user friendly too, each webpage will pop up another window and have to click several steps for each enquiry.



In their website, they just provide the information in wordings and basic graph. They can provide more information for their programmes.

The most important problem for the internet marketing is didn't provide a channel for the clients. There's no RSS, forum or discussion board in their website.

Sick ! !


I got a heavy flu after back from Beijing. The sickness really influence my daily life. As I always cough & better not to talk so much. Also, I always feel tired!!! That makes me cannot push myself too hard. It's very hard this week, as heavy workload in office, revision my studies, do my assignment, settle my family matter, and also need to practice my violin. The time will still run even I'm very sick. The doctor advised me to take a good rest, maybe he is right, but seem I didn't have time to do so at this moment.

Anyway, hopes the I can get well soon & no need to wear mask during the lesson

CRM System (Q1 - Session 3)

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) become more & more important in the world. As a result, the CRM system produced. The CRM system is a system which captures and combines customer data from all over the organization, so it can be analyzd and results can be distributed to different people, system & touch points.

Especially for the airlines services, the CRM could help the airlines serve the customer more thoughtfully. Started at ticketing stage, through the CRM system, the staff could see all the information which related to the customer. Not only the client's basic informations, but also other special information of the client. For example, VIP class, mileage and payment method, etc. It will recorded the client's special request in the system, to better arrangement for the client. For examples, special food, disability assistance, elderly passengers, with children and pregnant, etc. It could also see the present & previous booking record through the system. Once the
schedule confirmed, the airlines will issue the electronic tickets to the client. The client just need to present the e-tickets number in the airport and he/she can get the tickets before boarding.








The CRM system could also show how many miles did the cusomter get, so that the staff could advise the customer how to redeem the mileage. The staff could advise the customer to get more mileage and redeem the larger/better package or upgrade the upper class seat by mileage, this helps the staff can sell something further to the customer. Customer could also save the miles for further use or donate it to the charity.


When the customer arrived to the airport, he/she just need to provide the e-tickets number when check-in. Then the staff will issue the tickets to him/her immediately during the check-in process. The staff could also check the client's preference & arrange the better seat for the cusomter.






The customer could login his/her own membership account in internet and check his/her own information. For examples, the record and status of his/her tickets, the mileage gain and on-line check-in, etc. He/She could also views the updated news, comments, feedback and weight the services of the airlines through the account. Nowadays, some airlines had also provide the mobile CRM, so that the customer can book the tickets , check his/her flight, and also the airlines information via mobile.




The CRM system could also helps to analyse the market segment for the company. The marketing department can decide to target in which group of customers. It could reduced direct-marketing cost. By sorting the information of the customer, the company can find out which route will be the most popular and which route gain the most. Then, the company can invest more in those lines. According to the information in CRM system, the sales department could promote more packages to the customer which he/she really interested. For the customer services, they can serve and reply the customer more efficiently by viewing the CRM system.
