SAP for Small Business (Q1 - Session 2)

What's SAP? How's the SAP helps? Let's watch the video to know more about it.


For the "SAP Business One" system. All departments can exchange/group the information in ONE system. For inventory & operations, the Sales Department and Warehouse could operate the progress of the services via the SAP system smoothly.

Through the SAP system, the sales could review all the relevant information of the client. For example, the previous orders and discount for the client, etc. It helps the sales due with the client more easily, as he/she got the clear background of the client.


When the Sales Department received the order(s) from the customer, they can input the order details in the inventory data. Once they clicked save button, the warehouse will received an albert from SAP system automically.

In the SAP system, the warehouse could see all the client's information, including the client's name, full address of the delivery and the shipment date, etc. Then the warehouse can start to pack up the items as customer required. By clicking the "Pick and Pack Manager" button, the warehouse staff could see the delivery item(s) and proceed the work. They could also print the delivery notes and packing slips through the SAP system. After the stocks had sent out, the SAP system will shown as "closed" in the status column, so that the sales could knew the status of the orders and he/she could serve the client thoughtfully.

The SAP system not only for the small & medium size company, but also for large, multi or global company. It can also been use across several companies too.


SAP is one of the ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning Systems) provider in the world, others ERP systems including the Function & Oracle. The ERP system is useful for every company, for the large and also for the small & medium business, especially for those with large amount of orders delivery. The system centralized all the information, avoid the mistakes by multi-typing from different departments. It helps to manage the inventory in real time, so that the company can serve the client more efficient and achieve profitable growth. But before adopt it, the company have to think about how's the module matched to their own business, as there are thousand different workflows in each company. ONE set of ERP system could not satisfied for all companies' processes.

  1. Great post, Ada ! You're right that the company must analyze its workflows first to see whether the ERP is a good fit for it. It can be very risky to implement an ERP package that doesn't support a firm's processes very well, and then try to customize the package.

    ERP is also a good choice for a NEW company that doesn't have any exisitng information system yet. That way they can adopt the workflow/processes in the ERP system without any incompatibility since they're still new. These ERP processes are also supposed to be based on best practices so they're supposed to help the firm become efficient and more competitive. Just like having a fresh start....
